Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 August 2026
This notice explains what personal data we collect when you visit or buy from newcampingnow.shop, why we collect it, who sees it and what you can do about it. It is written to meet Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), which applies to us because we offer goods to people in the European Union (Article 3(2)).
1. Who is responsible for your data
The controller is:
- Trading name
- New Camping Now
- Legal trader
- Joao Vitor Da Silva Rocha
- Legal form
- Sole trader (individual), Australia
- Australian Business Number
- 92 126 558 358
- Business address
- Salisbury QLD 4107, Australia
- contact@newcampingnow.shop
We are a one-person business established in Australia, outside the EU and the EEA.
EU representative — being appointed. Because we are established outside the EU and offer goods to people in the EU, Article 27 GDPR requires us to designate a representative in the Union in writing. That appointment is in progress. As soon as it is signed, the representative's name, postal address in the EU and email will be published in this section, and you will be able to address them instead of us on any data protection matter (Article 27(4)).
Until then, contact us directly at contact@newcampingnow.shop. This does not reduce any right you have, and it does not reduce our responsibility (Article 27(5)).
2. What we collect and why
2.1. When you place an order
- Identity and contact — name, email, delivery address, phone number where the carrier requires it;
- Order data — what you bought, the amount, the date, the tracking number;
- Payment data — handled by our payment provider. We never receive or store your full card number. We see only the result, the last digits and the method.
Legal basis: performance of a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)). Without these details we cannot deliver an order.
2.2. Customs data
Cross-border parcels require a customs declaration containing your name, address and a description and value of the contents. Some countries also require a tax or personal identification number for import clearance. Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation and performance of the contract (Articles 6(1)(c) and 6(1)(b)).
2.3. When you email us
We keep your message and our reply so the conversation makes sense. Legal basis: contract, or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).
2.4. If you subscribe to our list
Only if you actively ask. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to us. Withdrawing does not affect what we sent before.
2.5. When you browse
Our hosting provider records technical logs — IP address, browser type, date and time — for security and to keep the site running. Fonts are served from our own domain, so simply reading these pages does not send your IP address to any third party. This site sets no tracking, advertising or analytics cookies. See the Cookie Policy.
We do not build profiles, and we take no automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you (Article 22).
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We share only what is needed with:
- Our supply and fulfilment partners, who need your name and delivery address to pack and dispatch your parcel;
- Carriers and postal operators, for delivery and customs clearance;
- Our payment provider, to take payment and process refunds;
- Our hosting and email providers, who process data on our instructions;
- Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose.
4. International transfers
We are in Australia and our fulfilment partners are in Asia, so ordering from us necessarily transfers your delivery details outside the EEA. Australia has not received an adequacy decision from the European Commission.
The transfer of your name and address to us and to our partners is necessary for the performance of the contract you asked us to carry out (Article 49(1)(b)). Where a provider acts on our instructions, we rely in addition on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses (Article 46(2)(c)) in that provider's data protection terms. You may ask us which mechanism covers a specific provider.
You should know that data transferred outside the EEA may in principle be accessible to local authorities under local law, and that avenues of redress there may differ from those in the EU.
5. How long we keep it
- Order and transaction records — for the period required by tax and accounting law and while a claim under the two-year legal guarantee remains possible, as a rule 5 to 7 years;
- Email correspondence that did not lead to an order — deleted within 12 months;
- Newsletter subscriptions — until you unsubscribe;
- Server logs — kept by our hosting provider for a short technical retention period, in the order of 6 months.
6. Your rights
Under Articles 15 to 22 GDPR you may ask us for:
- Access to the personal data we hold about you, and a copy of it;
- Rectification of anything inaccurate or incomplete;
- Erasure, where we no longer need the data or you withdraw the consent it rested on;
- Restriction of processing while a dispute about accuracy or lawfulness is resolved;
- Portability — the data you gave us, in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format;
- Objection to processing based on our legitimate interests, and an absolute right to object to direct marketing at any time;
- Withdrawal of consent at any time, where consent is the basis.
Write to contact@newcampingnow.shop with the subject “Data request”. We reply within one month, extendable by two further months for complex requests, in which case we tell you why within the first month (Article 12(3)). There is no charge. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we hand over data, so that we do not disclose it to the wrong person.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of your Member State of residence, work or of the alleged infringement (Article 77).
7. Security and breaches
The site is served over HTTPS, access to order data is restricted to the owner of the business, and we choose providers that maintain their own security controls. No system is perfect: if a personal data breach occurs that is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will inform you without undue delay (Article 34) and notify the competent supervisory authority as required (Article 33).
8. Children
This shop is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.
9. Changes and contact
We will update this notice when our processing changes; the current version is always on this page, dated at the top. Any question about your data: contact@newcampingnow.shop.
